Wudang pushes high-quality rural revitalization

Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is giving priority to its agricultural and rural development, and comprehensively promoting high-quality rural revitalization and agricultural and rural modernization, according to local media reports.

The district is committed to developing characteristic and advantageous industries and constructing a modern agricultural system.

In 2015, Zhang Qunying, a raspberry research expert from the Guizhou Academy of Sciences, together with her team established the Guizhou Guishanhong Agricultural Development Co in Wudang district, which has utilized the "company base + farmers" model to develop the raspberry industry.

Nowadays, the base's raspberry planting areas cover 100 mu (6.67 hectares), and raspberry cultivation has become an important industry and helped local villagers to increase their incomes.

The base also develops and produces deep-processed products such as raspberry wine, jam, fruit juice and fruit tea, forming a relatively complete industrial chain.

Moving forward, the base will promote the deep processing of raspberry products and integrate leisure, sightseeing and fruit-picking industries to drive rural tourism development and help locals get richer, according to Zhang.

The district is committed to promoting agricultural modernization and increasing farmers' incomes.

Jiagang village has taken the lead in building a demonstration zone for the modern agricultural industry. It has realized agricultural mechanization, convenient irrigation and drainage, intelligent operation and large-scale intensification to promote the high-quality development of the agricultural industry.

Yangchang town will focus on the development of a modern agricultural industry demonstration zone, develop the characteristic vegetable industry and high-quality fruit industry, and develop high-efficiency modern agriculture in mountainous suburban areas.

Thanks to the development of modern agricultural industry demonstration zones, more farmers can work locally instead of working outside their hometown. The zones have also increased farmers' incomes.

The district is committed to accelerating the development of industrial integration and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization.

Over recent years, Pianpo township in Wudang district has promoted the in-depth integration of the agricultural, commercial, cultural and tourism sectors to promote rural revitalization. The township has made remarkable achievements due to its efforts.

Wudang district is now pushing the industrialization of rural tourism and promoting the integration of agriculture, culture, tourism and healthcare. It aims to achieve total rural tourism business revenue of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.56 billion) by 2025.
