The high-purity substance joint research center of Guizhou's key provincial laboratory of light metal material preparation technology was inaugurated at Guiyang Jingyi Technology Co Ltd on Jan 29.
The new research center has been jointly established by Guizhou Institute of Technology and Guiyang Jingyi Technology. It is located in Shuitian town of Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Its establishment marks a new stage of in-depth cooperation between the two parties. It will lay the foundation for breaking through the foreign technology monopoly, boosting the high-quality development of Guizhou's new industrialization, and allowing more Guizhou-made high-purity semiconductor materials to go abroad.
High-purity resources are the core materials in the fields of semiconductors, display panels and heterojunction photovoltaics. The domestic market has a high demand for high-purity semiconductor materials; domestic manufacturers mainly provide medium- and low-end products, so high-purity semiconductor materials were primarily imported from the United States, Japan and South Korea.
The research center is led by Su Xiangdong, dean of Guizhou Institute of Technology, and the team consists of five doctoral students and several senior engineers with rich production experience.
The center's establishment means that both the institute and company will achieve success in the technological innovation of high-purity semiconductor materials. The two will partner to make breakthroughs in technological innovation and to break the technological monopoly of foreign countries in the field of high-end materials, said Su.
The center will give full play to the scientific research advantages of the institute and production experience of the company to contribute to the realization of industrial breakthroughs in Guizhou province, Su added.
Established in 2006, Guiyang Jingyi Technology has developed into a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales and after-sales service of ultra-clean and high-purity electronic grade materials. It can provide key raw materials for the photovoltaic and chip manufacturing industries worldwide.
