The transportation department of Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken a raft of measures to ensure safe transportation during the Spring Festival travel rush, according to local media reports.
This year's Spring Festival falls on Feb 12. The holiday travel rush began on Jan 28 and will end on March 8, lasting 40 days.
On the first day of the rush, officials from the transportation department came to Guiyang East Railway Station to survey its safety procedures and COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures. Transportation inspectors also visited some bus stations and passenger transport enterprises.
The department's staff members have worked hard to ensure the district's transportation system operates smoothly and have inspected passenger transport vehicles to ensure the proper implementation of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures.
Wudang district has also formulated relevant emergency plans for pandemic prevention and control, safety inspections and transportation capacity guarantees during the holiday travel rush.
