In Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Wudang district held an emergency drill for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control at the Pubu cold chain market in Dongfeng town on Jan 17.
The drill was conducted on the assumption that a porter in the market had been diagnosed with COVID-19. In the exercise, various departments in the district implemented strict pandemic prevention and control measures, thus successfully controlling the pandemic's spread.
The emergency drill aimed to ensure the safety of imported cold chain food in the district, and improve the district's ability to deal with disease outbreaks caused by imported cold chain food, said Chen Lin, director of the district's health bureau.
In response to the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Wudang district has increased the management of imported cold chain foods.
All imported cold chain foods entering the district should be reported to the market supervision department, and personnel will open the boxes for on-site inspection. Next, authorities will conduct detailed checks on the customs declaration form, entry quarantine certificate, nucleic acid test certificate and disinfection certificate. Finally, after further inspection and quarantine, the foods can enter the market.
