Wudang district holds winter swimming event

The swimming association of Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently held a winter swimming activity in Yudong canyon of Dongfeng town.

During the event, performers wowed visitors with single-bamboo shows. Performers wearing folk costumes stood barefoot on single bamboo pieces, each with a diameter of about 20 centimeters. They floated on the water with only a thin bamboo pole in their hands.

The two activities have a long history in the district and are popular among residents during the New Year's Day and Spring Festival holidays. Both activities inspire a lively atmosphere and promote physical fitness.
