Wudang hospital honored for its outstanding respiratory and critical care department

The department of respiratory and critical care medicine at Wudang District People's Hospital won the Chinese Medical Doctor Association's "Outstanding Award for the Standardized Construction of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of National Secondary Hospitals."

In 2013, the standardized construction project of the department of respiratory and critical care medicine (PCCM) was led by the respiratory physician branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and initiated by Wang Chen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The project aims to improve the construction standards of respiratory and critical care medicine departments at all hospitals, promote the construction of a standardized system for respiratory specialists and improve the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.

Since 2015, the Wudang District People's Hospital has selected 10 key medical staff members to study and receive training from the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing, Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health, West China Hospital Affiliated to Sichuan University and Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital.

The Wudang District People's Hospital assembled its department of respiratory and critical care medicine with an emphasis on organizational systems, facilities, personnel, professional capabilities and management.

In September, through online reviews, experts successively inspected respiratory specialists, specialized outpatient clinics, comprehensive outpatient clinics, bronchoscopy rooms, sleep respiratory monitoring rooms, pulmonary function rooms, respiratory intensive care units (RICU) and general wards of the Wudang hospital.
