It optimized the structure of its tourism industry, encouraging the growth of the hot spring industry, promoting the development of agricultural and recreational tourism, as well as developing tourism projects featuring folk customs and intangible cultural heritage experiences.

Through beautifying the environment and upgrading the infrastructure, the district improved its reception capacity. It also launched characteristic tour routes respectively in all four seasons.

The district strengthened the interaction between traditional media and emerging media platforms, promoting its tourism in an all-round way.

It also improved the service level for tourists, strengthening the construction of the tourism safety system, attracting more tourism-related professionals, and strengthening the supervision of the tourism market.

In addition, Wudang district integrated the development of culture and tourism, launching several cultural tourism projects and commodities. It also applied big data to improve management levels and the competitiveness of products and services, as well as developing its tourism e-commerce and encouraging online marketing.

It is expected that in 2020, the district will receive more than 25.73 million tourists, and see a total tourism revenue of 16.6 billion yuan ($2.52 billion).
