Two Guiyang expressways get green light for construction

Two expressways in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently got the green light to be built from the Guizhou Development and Reform Commission, according to a report from Guiyang Daily.

The expressways will connect Guiyang to Gulin county in Sichuan province's Luzhou city and Changshun county in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture when open to traffic. They have received a total investment of 52.61 billion yuan ($7.70 billion).

The Wudang-Changshun Expressway will begin at the Yangchang transportation hub in Guiyang's Wudang district and pass through Zhazuo, Xiuwen, Gubao, Weicheng, Zhanjie and Xiayun, before finally arriving at Caobai transportation hub in Changshun county.

This expressway will be approximately 127 kilometers long, with a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour and a roadbed width of 33.5 meters. 

The estimated total investment of the project is 20.01 billion yuan. 

Officials said that the expressway's construction would promote the growth of the Qianzhong Economic Zone and high-quality economic and social development.

The other to-be-built expressway will start from Guiyang's Jiangjunshan transportation hub and pass through Xiuwen and Jinsha, before arriving in Qingchi town of Jinsha county. It will connect to the Gulin-Luzhou section of the highway that connects Guiyang to Chengdu in Sichuan province.

The entire expressway will be 160.8 kilometers long and have a speed limit of 100 km/h.
