Building a new model of urban and rural social governance

Wudang will try to 'think big with big data' so it can take a new look at urban and rural planning and provide better construction and governance services using technology. Efforts will be made to promote the integration of industry, city and people, urban areas and rural areas, with plans to build modern cities from south to north, creating towns that are affluent and beautiful in their own unique ways.

With a clear strategic position and future purpose, Wudang will coordinate spaces for production, living, and nature, and consider urban and rural functions, industrial layout, developmental factors, ecological and environmental protection, infrastructure construction, and social programs. The "14th Five-Year Plan" (2021-25) will be compiled to provide guidance, as well as various special plans incorporating territorial and spatial planning. They are aimed at forming a planning system with accurate positioning, clear boundaries, complementary functions, and mutual convergence, and at outlining a "leading planning map" featuring a coordinated network of space, industry, and roads that fits the strategy.

Adhering to the principle of "joint development", Wudang will make endeavors to balance the environment, development, and life as it pursues the construction of a main urban area in the provincial capital, marked by industry-city, regional, urban-rural, and human-nature coordination. The district will steadily promote urban renewal, especially facilitating the integrated development of the Xintian urban area, the East Railway Station area, and Dongfeng area, with gradual efforts to eliminate urban and rural fringe areas. Another focus is to improve city quality, development level, and carrying capacity, and build a service area incorporating business, culture, education, tourism, and environmental functions. 

Construction of characteristic towns will be steadily advanced. They will be given distinctive themes and complete functions, and will be made famous for successful special industries. People in the countryside will be able to lead a beautiful and abundant village life that combines pastoral scenery, agricultural landscapes, and rural houses. The vision is that they will have a better place to live in, a nicer natural environment to enjoy, and more favorable working conditions with a stronger sense of development.

Wudang will build the inclusive and equal basic public service network that the main urban area of the provincial capital should possess, through coordinating basic public services, environmental services, and social governance systems. Close attention will be paid to the establishment of a civilized city, the creation of all-for-one tourism demonstration areas, and a long-term normal management system designed to keep track of their progress. Guided by the conviction that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, Wudang will continue promoting the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. There will be environmental protection inspections, pollution prevention measures, and ecological product supplies. With a commitment to building more communities with more sense of gain, happiness, and security, Wudang will work hard to develop education, medical care, transportation, employment, housing security and other social programs to improve people's living standards.
