Wudang cooperates with group to build tourist resorts

The government of Wudang district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- signed a framework agreement with Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group Co on April 2 to build national tourist resorts in Wudang, according to local officials.

Under the  development concept of “Beautiful Wudang, Garden City”, Wudang has been attracting companies and capital to develop national tourist resorts in its countryside, to help benefit local villagers who stand to benefit from jobs and improved living standards.

Based on the newly signed agreement, the Wudang government and Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group Co will work together to develop nine tourism projects, including a Maple Leaf Valley tourist resort and a Xiangzhigou scenic spot.

These projects are of great development value and are the first in a series of cooperative projects between the two sides, said Luo Jialing, chairman of Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group Co.

The company will take this relationship as an opportunity to promote the high-quality economic and social development of Wudang, Luo added.

Li Cheng, deputy secretary of the Wudang district committee, said that the Wudang district government will make every effort to guarantee the project's implementation.

Tang Xinglun, deputy mayor of Guiyang city, on behalf of the Guiyang municipal government, conveyed his congratulations on the bilateral cooperation.

Tang also expressed his hopes that the two sides would give full play to their own particular strengths to establish more joint ventures in the fields of infrastructure construction, education, medical care, tourism and culture, land development and the construction of industrial parks in the future.
