Chienyeh Pharmaceutical Packaging Co in Southwest China’s Guizhou province recently signed a cooperation agreement to share employees with Guiyang Empark Great Hotel -- under the guidance of the Guiyang Human Resources and Social Security Network platform, according to local officials.
The two sides agreed on arranging for 17 employees of Guiyang Empark Great Hotel to do some simple jobs that do not require training at Chienyeh Pharmaceutical Packaging Co.
The hotel employees are provided with a basic salary, daily food and accommodation while working at the company.
Officials said the cooperation aims to solve the problem of the labor shortage that occurred in the packaging company when it was affected by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, at a time while hotel employees are out of work due to the suspension of hotel operations because of the epidemic.
They said the packaging company began the mass production of medical goggles on Feb 13, to ensure the supply of epidemic prevention materials to Guizhou province.
While having 240 employees in total, the company still has less than 200 employees returning to work after it officially resumed production.
With the arrival of the shared employees, the business is now pushing to restore its production capacity to about 80 percent of capacity.
