Yangwu Reservoir Health, Elder Care, and Tourism Complex Development Project

The Yangwu Reservoir health, elder care, and tourism complex development project is located in Xinchang town of Wudang district, Guiyang city, Guizhou province. Xinchang town is close to Yangchang town and Zhazuo town, and is included in the tourism and industry planning of Guiyang city.

Wudang district boasts outstanding ecological resources with 54.93 percent forest coverage and a 93.8 percentage of good and excellent air quality days per year. The average temperature of the district is 14.6 °C. It has karst landforms, biodiversity, rich geothermal resources, mountains and a water area of 3.47 hectares with five springs.

Yangwu Reservoir has abundant geothermal resources. The reservoir is surrounded by 139 hectares of forest land and 22.67 hectares of agricultural land. As a livable place with mountains, waters, forests, fruits, and hot springs, the reservoir is also a leisure resort suitable for health and elder care.

The project is currently equipped with basic infrastructure and facilities, including roads, power supply, water supply, and communication.

It has been included in the Wudang district's tourism planning and massive health industry planning.

Wudang district's industrial advantages include:

First, the district's pharmaceutical industry shows strong development momentum. The district has nine pharmaceutical companies above designated size, including three leading ones and six  Guizhou province backbone enterprises.

Second, the district's medical service capacity is growing increasingly stronger with 155 medical and health institutions and 1,409 beds.

Third, the medicinal materials industry has begun to take shape. The district has a rare Chinese herbal medicine planting base covering more than 1,667 hectares, and three standardized medicinal materials planting bases.

Fourth, the district promotes the integration of the health maintenance and elder care industries. The health maintenance industry flourishes with hot springs, flowers, and agricultural tourism and leisure features. To date, the district has three professional health maintenance institutions and 33 nursing homes.

Fifth, health-related industrial parks are developing rapidly in the district. It has created a state-level modern high-efficiency agricultural demonstration park -- the Guizhou National Agricultural Science and Technology Park (Yangchang) -- and five provincial-level modern high-efficiency agricultural demonstration parks, covering a total area of 9,773 hectares. The Yunjin Luowan Medicine and Food New Industrial Park has been opened, and construction of the Zhihui Yunjin incubation base is basically complete.

Sixth, the district has also introduced influential pharmaceutical enterprises, medicine industrial parks, hospitals, and leisure and health projects for the aged in the past three years.
