Wudang district of Guiyang, Guizhou province signed nine projects with a total investment of 35.23 billion yuan ($5.12 billion) at the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2019 held in Guiyang from May 26 to 29.
During the four-day event, Wudang district exhibited its smart water integrated management big data platform and the capacity of the Pudu River ecological big data cloud platform, distributing a total of more than 2,000 brochures and attracting more than 8,000 visitors.
Investment injects new power in development
Wudang district held an investment promotion activity themed on health and big data at the expo to actively attract investments to the district.
At the promotion, the district showed the achievements of all-round economic and social development. The guests and entrepreneurs spoke highly of the district's integration and development of big data, massive health, tourism, and poverty alleviation.
More than 150 enterprises and over 300 guests participated in the promotion. The district signed nine projects with a total investment of 35.23 billion yuan, most of which are in the fields of high-tech electronic technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and health and elderly care.
Among the projects, Wudang district introduced a bird nest production project for mid-to-high end consumption. The project has an automated production line and started trial production in June. Its second production line will be installed and in production at the end of the year to provide quality service to customers around the world. It is estimated that 3,000 brand stores will be opened within three to five years, and the expected output value is over RMB 1 billion.
Smart water management based on big data
Wudang district showed its smart water integrated management big data platform and the Pudu River big data cloud platform at the expo, two examples of using big data in ecological protection.
Visitors can gain real-time information about the river through two large screens on the Pudu River big data cloud platform.
The district has set up eight water quality monitoring points in the Pudu River. With multi-heterogeneous network transmission, a ground-air integrated monitoring network system, and NB-IoT and IPv6 technologies, the Pudu River big data cloud platform is a sample project to monitor the ecological environment pollution and prevent catastrophic developments in the river.
Accelerated efforts in construction of eco-health industry
Wudang district eyes international business and expansion and has introduced internationally renowned mid-to-high end consumer goods production enterprises and brands. In addition, it works on attracting domestic leading enterprises specialized in massive health, big data, tourism, commerce, and retail services.
The business environment is one of the decisive factors determining the quality and speed of economic development in a region.
Wudang district strives to create a first-class business environment. It will focus on the improvement of industrial land acquisition and supply, policy implementation, and offering of water, power, gas, transportation and communication.
The district will also use big data to establish a business environment monitoring platform to effectively improve service efficiency and meet public needs. In addition, the district will continue its reforms to delegate authority, streamline administration and optimize government services, improving service levels and efficiency and boosting high quality development.
