Shuanglong develops logistics industry

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone cultivated logistics economy as a key pillar industry and promoted its rapid development.

As of 2024, the number of road transport enterprises above the designated size had increased from three to 12, the number of multimodal transport enterprises had increased from one to two, and the number of loading/unloading and warehousing enterprises had grown from zero to four. In 2024, total logistics revenue exceeded 15 billion yuan ($2.11 billion). 

In 2024, the passenger throughput of Longdongbao International Airport reached 22.31 million, an increase of 31.53 percent compared to 2021. The cargo and mail throughput was 106,600 metric tons, an increase of 31.44 percent compared to 2022, providing strong support for the development of the logistics industry.

The economic zone had introduced more than 20 key logistics projects with a total investment of 12.1 billion yuan by 2024. Among them, 14 projects have been completed and put into operation, including eight logistics parks with a storage area of over 1 million square meters, attracting industry-leading enterprises such as SF Express, YTO Express, and Cainiao.

As of September this year, the total number of logistics enterprises in the zone had increased to over 300, a year-on-year increase of 12.6 percent. The 29 enterprises above the designated size achieved a 12.02 percent year-on-year increase in operating income, accounting for 33.16 percent of the city's total, driving employment of over 15,000 people and providing strong support for regional employment and economic growth.

The zone's top priorities are to develop a modern logistics system, strengthen hub functions, accelerate intelligent transformation, and inject new momentum into high-quality regional development.
