Guiyang airport hits new highs

In the first three quarters of this year, multiple transportation indicators at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport saw significant growth, with passenger throughput reaching 198,193, a year-on-year increase of 187.02 percent, and new progress made in turning the airport into a regional aviation hub.

Multiple domestic routes have been opened and increased, with 161 originating routes and 25 stopping routes. Relying on the 240-hour visa free transit policy, the airport has opened international passenger routes to countries and regions including Bangkok, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Milan, Singapore, as well as Macao and Hong Kong. A total of 1,946 flights were operated, and the average passenger load factor reached 64.8 percent.

From January to September this year, the number of inbound passengers at the airport was 39,612, an increase of 399 percent year-on-year. Freight transportation has also seen a significant increase, with cargo and mail throughput reaching 89,950.94 metric tons, a year-on-year growth of 17.34 percent.

International freight routes operated a total of 438 flights, up 85.60 percent. The import and export volume of goods was 5,446.11 tons, an increase of 65.31 percent. The import and export goods covered various types of commodities such as fresh food, fabrics, mechanical parts, and flowers.

During the summer transportation period (from July 1 to Aug 31), the airport saw a passenger throughput of 4.87 million, with an average daily passenger throughput of 78,500, an increase of 3.52 percent compared to the previous year. A total of 27 days had a daily throughput exceeding 80,000, with records broken three times during this period. The passenger throughput during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays exceeded 547,800, a year-on-year growth of 2.28 percent.
