From January to September this year, the total number of logistics enterprises in the Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone exceeded 300, a year-on-year increase of 12.6 percent. Operating revenue also saw a year-on-year rise of 12.02 percent, accounting for 33.16 percent of the city's total.
The rapid development of the logistics industry has optimized regional industrial structures, creating more job opportunities and providing stable incomes for local villagers.
Qinqi village, one of the 16 administrative villages in Xiaobi town of Shuanglong, has a registered residence population of 1,475, including more than 690 workers. In April, the village partnered with a local company to build a car inspection station, making it easier to inspect logistics vehicles operating within the park. Notably, 80 percent of the station's employees were residents of the village.
Yang Jiaxiang, a village representative, said, "This station can not only provide inspection services for trucks and cars in the logistics park, but also serve social vehicles throughout the area. It can generate a minimum annual income of 480,000 yuan ($67,389) for the village, as well as offer a 5 percent gross profit dividend."
To address the accommodation problem for transit drivers and business personnel in the logistics park, Qinqi village has transformed an office building into a hotel covering over 1,200 square meters . The hotel has more than 40 guest rooms and generates an annual revenue of over 300,000 yuan for the village's collective economy.
Qinqi village and Yunguan village jointly invested more than 69 million yuan and partnered with the state-owned enterprise Sinochem Group Co to build a gas station. This project is expected to bring more than 2 million yuan in annual revenue for each village.
In 2024, the economic zone hosted 254 logistics enterprises, with the logistics industry achieving a revenue of 14.98 billion yuan — a year-on-year increase of 18.05 percent.
With hundreds of goods being transferred and sorted here every day, the logistics industry within the economic zone will create greater development opportunities for the surrounding areas.
