Rows of solar panels now cover the park's rooftops, with inverters efficiently feeding electricity into newly installed transformers before integration into the park’s grid system.
The project, independently funded and developed by Guiyang Mineral Energy Investment Group Co, spans 38,000 square meters of rooftop space, with an installed capacity of 4.43 megawatts and a total investment of 16.02 million yuan ($2.27 million).
With strong support from multiple departments in the zone, construction of the project began on May 21. Through coordinated efforts and the prompt resolution of technical challenges, the project achieved partial grid connection on Sept 26.
The project is expected to generate approximately 3.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to save 1,122 metric tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 3,075 tons per year. The clean energy will first supply the logistics park, easing its power demand, with surplus electricity fed back into the local grid.
This project marks a significant step for Guiyang in advancing its carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.
