The first Guizhou Cultural and Sports International Open (Guiyang) Tournament and the Guizhou Mass Sports and Cultural Competition will be held from Nov 22 to 28 at the Shuanglong Eco-Sports Park in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
Nearly a hundred teams comprising over 20,000 participants will display their talents on the field.
The event aims to foster exchange and collaboration between Guizhou and other provinces through cultural and sports activities. It will offer a platform for people to experience Guizhou's diverse artistic expressions, enhance visitors' understanding of the region, and create a cultural and sports extravaganza.
Cultural competitions include fashion modeling, vocal performances, ethnic folk dances (including African drums), instrumental performances, recitations of outstanding works, and international standard ballroom dancing.
Awards will be given for both group and individual categories, with medals and certificates presented to the winners.
Preparations, including event registrations, are currently in full swing.
The Shuanglong Eco-Sports Park, which will host the event, is Guizhou's first large-scale eco-sports theme park. It spans approximately 84,000 square meters and features open plazas, cycling lanes, jogging tracks, an underground parking lot, and 11 international-standard sports facilities. The park boasts a 60 percent green coverage rate.
