The ecology and environment bureau of the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone recently earned a subsidy of 10,000 yuan ($1,382.32) for its "zero-waste city" construction efforts.
This recognition and approval from the municipal departments is high praise for the zone's "zero-waste city" construction efforts in 2023, laying a solid foundation for this year's work.

"Zero-waste city" construction is significant for enhancing residents' environmental awareness, advancing waste sorting efforts, promoting resource recycling, reducing environmental pollution, and supporting the construction of ecological civilization.
In 2023, in accordance with municipal arrangements, the Shuanglong zone initiated "zero-waste city" construction efforts for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, detailing key tasks, setting annual assignments, outlining lists of projects, and establishing timetables.
Throughout the year, two "zero-waste factories", five "zero-waste offices", one "zero-waste community", and one "zero-waste hospital" were created in the zone.
Building upon its achievements of 2023, the Shuanglong zone's ecology and environment bureau will continue to intensify the promotion of the "zero-waste city" construction efforts. Through various channels and methods, it will encourage more people to participate in the "zero-waste city" work, and jointly propel the ecological civilization construction in the Shuanglong zone to new heights.
