On April 8, in the Longdongbao Industrial Park of the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, a team led by Wang Rui from Guiyang University, along with his team of master's students, was busy developing a new preservation technology for Guizhou Weite Food Co.
"If this technology development is successful, the shelf life of our products such as spicy chicken will be significantly extended, ensuring that the quality remains consistent for several months, not only meeting national standards, but also catering to the tastes of the public," said Wang Denrong, deputy general manager of the company.
Guizhou Weite Food Co is a specialized agricultural product processing enterprise that is dedicated to the healthy production, processing, and distribution of vegetable products.
As the company deals with fresh products, the mobility of raw materials is significant, requiring the company to preserve approximately 8,000 metric tons of raw materials annually. However, traditional cold storage preservation has its limitations and comes with considerable costs. Therefore, the company has been seeking to change this situation through technological innovation.
After expressing their needs to the talent service commissioner of the Shuanglong zone, Wang Rui from Guiyang University was dispatched to the company as a special envoy for technological assistance to help solve the preservation challenges faced by the enterprise.
Through the joint efforts of both parties, in 2023, a modified atmosphere preservation technology was successfully developed, effectively addressing the short shelf life issue of freshly cooked dishes.
The Shuanglong zone and Guiyang University signed strategic several talent-related cooperation agreements in September 2020, jointly establishing a system for special technological envoys.
So far, these special technological envoys have helped solve over 200 specific technical issues for service enterprises, and facilitated the establishment of six internship and training bases, practical teaching bases, and graduate workstations.
Moving forwards, the zone will continue to advance the system of special technological envoys, guide technological talents to serve the construction of a modern industrial system, and contribute to the development of new quality productive forces.
