"Since the beginning of this year, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone's pharmaceutical industry park has attracted 18 small and medium-sized pharmaceutical enterprises to settle in, with over 20 more companies planning to join," said Zhou Xiankai, the head of the commercial service department at the zone's industrial park service center, on Feb 26.
To promote the gathering of pharmaceutical industries and related talents within its jurisdiction, the Shuanglong zone has been working on the construction of its pharmaceutical industry park since July 2023.
It has formulated corresponding policies and steadily promoted the construction of office space to the requirements of related enterprises. By the end of December of 2023, about 39 small and medium-sized pharmaceutical enterprises had been registered in the pharmaceutical industry park.
In 2024, the park plans to attract another 150 small and medium-sized pharmaceutical enterprises, which will bring an expected revenue of 300 million yuan ($41.68 million) and a potential tax revenue of 10 million yuan.
By 2025, the park's goal is to introduce, cultivate, and incubate 300 pharmaceutical enterprises, achieve a revenue of over 1 billion yuan, and generate an additional tax revenue of over 100 million yuan.
By the end of 2023, the Shuanglong zone was home to 278 pharmaceutical enterprises, including 19 manufacturing enterprises and 259 sales enterprises. Their total tax revenue reached close to 400 million yuan.
In 2023, the zone's eight pharmaceutical enterprises above a designated size achieved a total output value of over 1.64 billion yuan.
