Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made steady progress in promoting high-quality development on all fronts.
Over the past year, the economic zone has focused on project construction and advancement to bolster the growth of its industrial economy, and has leveraged the vital role of existing offices and factories to attract investment and promote new industrialization.
A series of supportive policies and incentive measures have been introduced in the past year. Preferential financial and tax policy was provided to boost enterprises' development, while guarantees have been offered in areas such as land use, technological innovation and talent introduction, empowering industrial enterprises to increase efficiency and speed up development.
In 2023, the economic zone achieved a total industrial output value of more than 9.9 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
The logistics industry experience significant growth in the economic zone. The zone's modern air logistics park attracted 14 well-known logistics enterprises, forming an air logistics aggregation area covering over 6,000 mu (400 hectares).
In order to improve the quality of the logistics park and boost the logistics economy, the economic zone has continuously improved port facilities in 2023. It also assisted logistics enterprises in seeking financial policy support, continuously optimizing the business environment, and building a national airport logistics hub.
In terms of promoting an open economy, the economic zone continued to advance the construction of open platforms, focusing on improving the functions of open ports, actively building a cross-border e-commerce ecosystem, and constantly nurturing and expanding market entities.
The trade volume in terms of both imports and exports reached more than 6.8 billion yuan, and actual foreign investment reached $31.22 million.
The tourism economy also thrived in the economic zone. The three A-level tourist attractions collectively received 2.46 million visitors, a 62.3-percent increase year-on-year. The cumulative comprehensive tourism revenue reached more than 40 million yuan, a 97.87-percent year-on-year increase.
