The designated supervision site at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport officially passed the on-site acceptance inspection by the General Administration of Customs on Aug 30.
This signifies that the international cargo security capability has been further enhanced, and the functions of the airport will be more comprehensive.
A designated supervision site refers to a setting that complies with the specifications for customs supervision operations, meets the needs of animal and plant disease prevention and control, and serves as a site for the inspection, examination, and quarantine of certain high-risk animals and plants that are imported, and related products.
Currently, the designated site at the Guiyang airport's international cargo center is divided into three commodity operation areas, namely, one for the inspection of edible aquatic animals, another for imported frozen and fresh aquatic products, and a third area for the inspection of imported fruits.
After the designated supervision site is put into use, it will provide direct access to various goods, allowing the people of Guizhou to enjoy high-quality seafood, fruits, and other products from around the world more quickly, while also significantly reducing the logistics costs of businesses.
