The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone held a work conference recently to promote investment in key industries, mapping out a blueprint and identifying targets for this year.
The zone has set a goal to complete 30 billion yuan ($4.35 billion) in contracts this year, with the paid-in capital for new projects reaching 15 billion yuan.
As a national demonstration zone for the airport economy and an open platform in Guizhou province, the zone boasts the only 4E-level airport in the province and has developed a multimodal transport model including an airport, high-speed railways, subways and expressway networks.
It has become fertile ground for investment and entrepreneurship in Guiyang and Guizhou and a new hub of industrial development due to its advantageous location, natural scenery, supporting facilities, logistics services and business-friendly environment.
Focusing on high-quality development and investment promotion, the zone saw $30.61 million in actual utilized foreign capital in 2022.
This year, it will pursue the development of industries, logistics, tourism, opening-up and supporting facilities and will focus on advanced equipment manufacturing, electronic information and green food. It will also boost investment in new-type industrialization.
Furthermore, the zone plans to introduce more aviation enterprises, build aerospace industrial parks and conduct research on electronic information. With the help of the Kweichow Moutai Shuanglong Smart Logistics Park, it will attract enterprises specializing in the bottling and sale of wine and develop sectors such as condiments and prepared dishes.
It will also attract logistics enterprises in areas such as cross-border trade, cold-chain products and aviation, and build healthcare, green and ecological-themed hot spring towns.
