Guizhou Zhongrui Fengtai New Energy Technology Co is a company on the move, whose micro-batteries are in the process of going global.

The dynamic manufacturer – located in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is a subsidiary of Guangdong Ruifeng New Energy Technology Co.

In 2020, the zone discussed with the parent company moving its unit there and it took only 14 days to seal the deal. The first stage of the subsidiary involves an investment of 500 million yuan ($70.85 million) and will construct production lines that can produce 50 million micro-batteries for wearable devices per year.

The second stage will deploy capital expenditure of 2 billion yuan and will produce more than 450 million micro-batteries for wearable devices per year.

The company is leading its field in the technology for the micro-batteries of wearable devices and supplies tech giants like Apple, Huawei and Foxconn. When the two stages are completed, it is expected to generate annual industrial output worth 5.5 billion yuan and provide jobs for 2,000 people in five years.

Relying on Guiyang's policy support and stimulating business environment, the company aims to attract more upstream and downstream companies and promote the formation of a new energy industrial cluster.

In 2022, Guiyang has attracted investment from various industrial supply chain projects for new energy. In the future, the city plans to take advantage of its resources and industrial bases for phosphorus and aluminum and attract more related projects – including those engaged in producing copper foil, diaphragms, electrolytes and batteries.
