Since it was approved as a national-level airport economic demonstration zone in 2017, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone has been making efforts to build itself into a modern industrial base, a regional logistics center, a technological innovation engine, and an open cooperation platform.
Relying on the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, the Shuanglong zone aims to build four areas for the airport high-tech industry, an airport modern service industry hub, an airport modern logistics hub, and airport international life and leisure.
It will focus on the development of electronic information manufacturing, high-end equipment manufacturing, and ecological specialty food.
The Shuanglong zone's real economy is currently developing steadily and boasts a strong industrial development model.
In 2021, 53 key industrial projects and 32 excellent and strong enterprises were introduced to the zone, with high-level opening-up strengthened and the business environment optimized.
About 158 kilometers of natural gas trunk pipelines in the zone were completed and put into operation, and the coverage of rural household waste treatment collection and transportation reached 100 percent.
Moving forward, the zone will strive to build a high-end, international and aviation-oriented industrial system.
By 2025, the zone plans to build a national-level airport economic demonstration zone with a regional GDP of 50 billion yuan ($7.48 billion).
Efforts will be made to build an airport economic zone with a more optimized spatial layout, a more complete industrial system, more prominent portal functions, more effective regional coordination, stronger influence, and more harmonious social development by 2035, with a regional GDP of 100 billion yuan.
