Six groups based in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – were recently identified as 2021 national high-tech enterprises, bringing the number of resident there to 17.
Those recognized are Guizhou Yuteng Coal Industry Big Data Information Center Co, Guizhou Zhengye Longteng New Material Development Co, Guizhou Zhengye Engineering Technology Investment Co, Guizhou Shuli Technology Co, Guizhou Buer Data Technology Co and Guiyang Quanyuanhong Technology Development Co.
According to the country's Corporate Income Tax Law, businesses identified as high-tech enterprises are subject to enterprise income tax of 15 percent.
Their income from technology transfers can attract tax reductions or exemptions and additional deductions for R&D expenses.
Also, they can get provincial and municipal government subsidies of up to 600,000 yuan ($94,960).
Since last year, the Shuanglong zone has moved to help high-tech businesses to grow, encouraged companies to bolster R&D investment and expand school-enterprise cooperation.
Moreover, it has helped build a platform for industry-university-research cooperation and acted to help improve the ability of enterprises to develop sci-tech R&D and commercialize their findings and innovations.
Moving forwards, plans are for the zone to continue to assist businesses to solve any problems encountered in making various applications and getting certification, to ensure they pass national high-tech enterprise certification.
