Construction on the maintenance management area structure of the third-phase expansion project of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport was completed on Dec 30. The building is now entering the decoration stage.

With a total investment of 91.65 million yuan ($14.2 million), construction on the maintenance management area began in March 2019, undertaken by China Railway Construction Engineering Group.
The development consists of engineering maintenance warehouses, special garages and maintenance rooms, business rooms, dangerous goods warehouses, fire-fighting pools and pump rooms.
It can accommodate the storage and maintenance of specialized vehicles such as airport shuttles, passenger elevators and tractors.
After the maintenance management area is put in use, it will provide sufficient production space for scheduled aircraft inspections, realize more flexible production plans, and effectively alleviate the development bottleneck caused by insufficient aircraft maintenance resources at the airport.
It will also further enhance the core competitiveness and market position of the airport's aircraft maintenance business.
