The natural resources bureau of the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, staged a publicity event on April 23 to mark the the 51th anniversary of World Earth Day, according to local officials.
April 22 each year is designated as World Earth Day. It was set up specifically for global environmental protection, aiming to improve the overall environment of the earth through a green and low-carbon life.

The event in the zone raised the issues of how to prevent a global environmental catastrophe, protection of natural resources and cutting back on pollution through promotional slogans and distributing environmental protection publicity materials to the public.
Officials said the annual event in the zone strives to effectively raise the public profile of the cause and to get the man in the street to be more aware of the need to pay attention to natural resources, strictly land and to create an ecologically minded society.
This year, the event had a focus on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia -- and advocated the citizens consciously do a good job at epidemic prevention and control themselves.
