At a novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control hospital in Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, all dedicated 34 staff members -- of the Workers' Hospital of the Seven Group of Non-Ferrous Metals and Nuclear Industry Geological Exploration Bureau of Guizhou -- have been on duty constantly.
Among them are Zhu Hongmei, aged 46 and her husband Zheng Zhijian, 55, a nurse and a doctor couple at the hospital. They've worked shifts at the epidemic prevention and control checkpoints from Jan 24.
"My husband had lung cancer in 2017 and after surgery and rehabilitation, he basically recovered. I am proud that he has participated in the epidemic prevention and control duty", Zhu said.
Due to the epidemic prevention and control tasks, her two little children can only be taken care of by the eldest daughter who is still in college.
In order to give the best possible care of the children, they can only choose one person to attend the outpatient clinic and go home from work. Otherwise most times, they hurriedly meet when they are handing over on their work.
In the economic zone, there are many other worker couples who insist on playing active roles in epidemic prevention.
