Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport handled passenger throughput of 21.9 million in 2019, ranking 20th among civil airports in the country, up one place from last year, with cargo and mail throughput of 120,110 metric tons, and 167,063 takeoffs and landings.
Throughout the year, the airport offered 252 domestic and international routes, including newly added routes to Paris, Melbourne and Kathmandu.
It passed the international health regulations core capacity assessment of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the General Administration of Customs in November 2019, becoming the second airport in Southwest China and the 12th in the country to pass the assessment.

The airport also promoted the construction of an airport smart cloud platform and optimized convenient smart facilities such as face recognition and paperless customs clearance, thereby increasing the flight punctuality rate to 87.1 percent.
In addition, it continuously strengthened infrastructure construction. Six parking bays on the northwest apron of the airport were put into use, with the number of parking bays increased to 56.
