Construction of the "one office and two centers" project started in Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone Dec 27. The project comprises the international mail exchange office, the international express center and the bonded logistics center.
With a planned area 40 hectares and an estimated investment of 1.86 billion yuan (266.61 million), the project involves services and businesses including export mail, international express mail, cross-border e-commerce direct mail, air cargo ground operations, bonded logistics, simple processing and re-export trade.
After these international businesses are launched, the zone will comprehensively accelerate the pace of multimodal transport and the joint development of an inland port. Mail, express deliveries, and articles that enter Guiyang by air transport from all over the world will continue to be distributed and transported from the zone, according to Chen Libo, executive director of Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone Group.
A few hundred meters from the project is the first inspection and quarantine test area and the first comprehensive port platform in Southwest China-Guizhou (Shuanglong) Inspection and Quarantine Test Area. The project has two national-level key laboratory inspection and quarantine comprehensive experimental rooms, four designated ports and inspection sites.
"Relying on the location advantages of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, the group will invest in different sections of the port comprehensive economic zone and vigorously develop cross-border e-commerce business to help Guizhou goods to go global," Chen said.
