The general engineering office of Guiyang Urban Rail Transmit Group Co on Dec 18 organized design units to conduct an on-site survey and select an area for a car park, for the new light rail transit line within Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
The planned S3 and S4 light rail lines will be operated in Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
With an estimated total investment of 35.75 billion yuan ($5.1 billion), the S3 light rail line will be 55 kilometers long and have 22 stations.
It will connect with important passenger destinations such as Baihua Chuncheng community, Guiyang Southwest International Trade City, the large-scale residential area of Huaguoyuan, the old urban area and Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
The S4 line will have a total length of 54.2 km, with 20 stations and an estimated total investment of 21.68 billion yuan.
It will run from west to east of Huaxi University Town, to the Economic Development Zone, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone and Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
