Guangdong, Guizhou strengthen talent cooperation

As China marks the 30th anniversary of its East-West collaboration initiative this year, Guangdong and Guizhou provinces are deepening their cooperation to promote talent exchange and innovation-driven development.

The 2026 Expert Service Delegation Program was launched in Guiyang on June 29. Human resources departments from 14 cities and prefectures in Guangdong and Guizhou signed a cooperation framework agreement to facilitate the flow of talent between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guizhou.

During the three-day program, eight experts from Guangdong visited universities, key laboratories, and enterprises specializing in big data and precision manufacturing across Guizhou, and provided technical guidance, professional training, and on-site consultations.

Wang Li, deputy director of the Institute of Animal Science at the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said one of the key goals of the visit is to help Guizhou make better use of its non-grain feed resources to reduce livestock breeding costs.

"We will also provide targeted guidance on the development of key laboratories," Wang said. "In the future, both sides will deepen long-term cooperation in scientific research, talent cultivation and professional exchanges."

Representing one of the participating enterprises, Huang Xiufeng, deputy director of the Human Resources Department at Guizhou Big Data Industry Group, said he hoped experts could help address three major priorities: advancing core technologies such as security for large artificial intelligence models, supporting the development of major innovation platforms, and cultivating high-level talent.

"We will establish a long-term industry-university-research collaboration mechanism to accelerate the application of research achievements in areas including government services, data trading, and computing power scheduling," Huang said.
