New drone competitions focusing on the low-altitude economy debuted at the 2026 Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area Vocational Skills Competition at Qingzhen Campus of Guizhou Electronic Commerce Vocational College on June 24. Contestants from across the region competed to assemble and repair drones as well as carry out drone logistics operations.
In the drone logistics event, participants demonstrated their skills by completing a series of practical tasks, including pre-flight inspection, precision takeoff and landing, cargo transportation, and hovering airdrop operations. The drone assembly and maintenance competition tested competitors' abilities to assemble aircraft, calibrate systems, diagnose errors, and repair equipment within a limited time.
