AI, drones innovation projects spotlighted at Guiyang contest

The "Create and Win the Future" 2026 Entrepreneurship Competition for Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area opened at the Guiyang Human Resources Service Industrial Park in Guiyang on May 21.

The competition aims to build a high-quality platform for entrepreneurial exchange and project showcasing, further promote entrepreneurship-driven employment, and identify and cultivate promising startup projects.

Since registration opened in April, the event has received 414 project applications. Following selection and recommendation by relevant district- and county-level departments, 119 outstanding projects advanced to the municipal qualifying round.

"Our project, Digital Family Tree – Smart Companionship, uses AI technology to provide elderly people with three different services, including autobiography writing, biographical film production, and digital avatar creation, helping preserve family stories," said Dai Chengjie, deputy general manager of Guizhou Shenzhi Technology Co.

The competition features six tracks, including four main categories focused on technological innovation, industrial development, vocational skills, and public welfare needs, along with two special categories focusing on youth innovation and rural entrepreneurship. Each track will award one first prize, two second prizes and two to three third prizes. Participating projects range from drone hybrid power system development and industrialization to AI training data processing integrated with youth employment and skills development.

During the competition, contestants presented their projects' key features and advantages. Professional judges from fields such as venture capital, industrial research, and higher education evaluated the projects based on innovation, employment potential, team capability, and growth prospects, while also offering feedback and raising questions on site.
