In recent years, the Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ) has been exploring new paths for the integration of industry and education, combining the talent training chain with the industrial development chain.
The zone has signed strategic cooperation agreements with 13 universities to jointly build more than 20 talent co-cultivation platforms, including off-campus practical teaching bases and talent training bases.
It has arranged for university students to explore the zone's key enterprises, cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, and used-car export bases, allowing them to experience the zone's innovative and practical achievements.
In response to the needs of universities, 10 experienced business experts have been hired as off-campus mentors to impart real-world business skills. Internship and practical training positions are being offered as a supplement to classroom learning.
Relying on the cross-border e-commerce industrial park, 500 positions in customs declaration and inspection, cross-border logistics, and international trade are provided to university students every year.
Enterprises are being encouraged to move their R&D activities closer to the factory floor, connecting scientific research with technological breakthroughs by enterprises.
To date, five enterprise technology centers have been established, including one at or above the provincial level. Expert teams from universities have been organized to conduct seminars, provide specialized training, and offer technical guidance within enterprises, making more than 30 visits in total.
