In recent years, Guiyang Free Trade Zone has made significant progress in promoting rural vitalization by utilizing its functional and policy advantages to help Guizhou's local products reach global markets.
In early 2024, Wu Longhua, who had spent over a decade trading agricultural products in other provinces, returned to his hometown in Guizhou to establish Guizhou Wanhui International Trade Co. His goal was to expand his business into a complete industry chain covering planting, processing, warehousing, and import/export operations, all close to home.
Upon reaching an agreement, Guiyang FTZ launched a comprehensive service package for the company. Multiple departments worked together to support its growth, assisting with everything from document submission, licensing, and factory facilities to recruitment. They also introduced customs clearance facilitation measures, provided integrated foreign trade services, and offered step-by-step guidance on project applications.
By 2025, relying on Guiyang FTZ's international cargo consolidation center and integrated service platforms, the company had exported local Guizhou products — including potatoes, ginger, garlic, and navel oranges — to overseas markets.
Total revenue reached 240 million yuan ($35.27 million), with 18.32 million yuan in export volume, covering markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States.
Starting in 2025, Wanhui International began establishing standardized planting bases across Guizhou. The company plans to create 500,000 mu (33,333 hectares) of contract farming bases nationwide to improve the quality and export scale of local produce, while increasing farmers' incomes. In the future, even more agricultural products from Southwest China will be consolidated here for export.
