In January, a formal cooperation agreement was signed between Guiyang International Land Port and New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Operation Zhanjiang Co to co-build the Guizhou-Guangdong corridor.
The partnership aims to innovate across business operations, platform development, and capital cooperation. By contributing to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the two parties are building a multidimensional logistics network designed to slash costs and boost export efficiency.
Key highlights of the collaboration include combining Zhanjiang Port's role as a pivot for the Maritime Silk Road with Guiyang's industrial clustering; jointly developing markets for bulk cargo and containers; and offering door-to-door and one-stop logistics solutions through shared data and coordinated shipping capacity.
In line with national directives to integrate Guizhou into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guizhou is accelerating the construction of major rail container corridors connecting Chongqing, Zunyi, Guiyang, and Liuzhou to the ports of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and the Beibu Gulf.
To solidify this foundation, Guizhou is developing comprehensive rail, road, air, and water transport; ensuring consistent schedules from Guiyang to key Guangdong ports; researching exclusive storage zones in Guangdong for Guizhou's imports and exports; and positioning Guizhou as the primary distribution center for Guangdong products in Southwest China.
Today, Guiyang International Land Port has established combined port relationships with seven coastal hubs, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhanjiang, and the Beibu Gulf. With 37 maritime routes now connecting to Southeast Asia, Guizhou has successfully created an integrated "trade + logistics + industry" development model, realizing a true two-way flow of global goods.
