The launch ceremony for the Guizhou Jijun Semiconductor industrial park and the production lines of display driver chips and glass cover boards was held on Sept 28 in Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ), Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The industrial park focuses on extending the industrial chain of design, packaging, and testing of display driver chips into the international market. It integrates FPC wiring, backlight modules, glass cover boards, and display module integration into the optoelectronic industry, creating an industrial ecosystem that combines industry and supply chains.
The project is expected to achieve an estimated import and export value of at least 4 billion yuan ($566.2 million) by 2025 and become the largest optoelectronic display manufacturing industrial park in Guizhou.
Launching the industrial park is an important achievement in developing Guiyang FTZ's electronic information industry cluster and undertaking the transfer of industries from the eastern region.
Cheng Julong, chairman of Guizhou Jijun Semiconductor Technology Co, stated that the company will increase research and development investment, introduce and cultivate high-end talents, and create a technologically advanced, first-class optoelectronic display manufacturing industry cluster.
