The first batch of Maotai-flavor baijiu exported from the Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ) set off for Thailand via Qinzhou Port in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on April 29.
The baijiu industry is a pillar industry in Guizhou province. In recent years, Guizhou has strived to create a world-renowned baijiu industry cluster.
As an important platform for the development of the province's open economy, Guiyang FTZ has been attracting baijiu enterprises, facilitating enterprise resources through communication between government and enterprises, and establishing comprehensive foreign trade service platforms.
These efforts aim to help Guizhou goods go global and promote the high-quality development of both the private economy and foreign trade.
The first batch of Maotai-flavor baijiu exported from Guiyang FTZ was designed and developed by local enterprise Guizhou Yiqi Liquor Co, totaling 740 bottles.
"Since the preparation for the export of Maotai-flavor baijiu began at the end of last year, we had received support from various departments at all levels in Guiyang FTZ. Thanks to the comprehensive foreign trade service companies introduced by Guiyang FTZ, we have received professional support throughout the entire export process, including maritime logistics, customs declaration, and clearance," said the person in charge of Guizhou Yiqi Liquor Co.
With vast overseas market space for Guizhou's Maotai-flavor bajiu, the company will now explore international markets such as Singapore and Malaysia with the assistance of Guiyang FTZ.
In the next step, Guiyang FTZ will help companies go global through the Belt and Road Initiative, utilize international markets and resources, make full use of foreign trade comprehensive service platforms, and provide customized solutions for enterprises to address import and export issues.
