During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday from Sept 28 to Oct 6, over 7,000 employees of Guiyang Public Transportation Co diligently stayed at their posts and guaranteed the safe transportation of 5.26 million passengers, a remarkable increase of 171.51 percent compared to the same period last year.
On average, buses in Guiyang handled 658,100 passengers per day, with the main areas experiencing increased passenger flows being Guiyangbei Railway Station and Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
To cope with the peak passenger flow at Guiyangbei Railway Station, the company prepared 40 additional buses. Over the holiday, these buses successfully managed the transportation of 2,046 passengers to the districts of Nanming, Yunyan, and Guanshanhu, significantly improving transportation efficiency and reducing passenger congestion at the station.
The company also launched customized bus routes catering to university campuses and vocational education centers, providing convenient transportation for students to Guiyangbei Railway Station and Guiyang Railway Station. A total of 169 specialized bus services operated, transporting 8,492 passengers.
To facilitate travel for residents and tourists, Guiyang introduced nine customized bus routes serving popular destinations in the city, such as Qingyan Ancient Town, Tianhetan, Yunman Lake, and Jiaxiu Pavilion, with the buses operating 139 times and serving 1,906 passengers.
Nine specialized bus routes were also launched for commuting to famous scenic spots outside Guiyang, like Huangguoshu Waterfall, Fanjing Mountain, Xiaoqikong, and Zhijin Cave.
