Guiyang Free Trade Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently launched a plan for the high-quality development of foreign capital, foreign trade and foreign economy, aiming to achieve a year-on-year growth of 30 percent in foreign trade and $17 million in actually utilized foreign capital this year.
According to the plan, Guiyang will accelerate the construction of Guiyang international dry port, cooperate with ports in South China, and implement preferential policies to help companies reduce costs.
It will focus on developing the electronic information manufacturing industry, expand the scale of the advanced equipment manufacturing industry, support resident companies to explore the international market, and attract raw grain import and agricultural product export and processing projects.
According to Guizhou's foreign trade development needs, Guiyang FTZ will accelerate construction on cross-border e-commerce service platforms and launch on-site cross-border e-commerce warehouses, aiming for at least $450 million in cross-border e-commerce retail transactions in 2023.
Guiyang FTZ will further the development of service trade and develop high-tech and high-value-added outsourcing services such as cloud computing, data services, and R&D services.
Guiyang FTZ will also continue with the construction of a national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration area, guarantee the import of strategic resources, explore multimodal transport systems, and seek municipal and provincial support in solving problems related to import trade reform.
