Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has made significant progress in developing the scale of its cross-border e-commerce, as well as interrelated business modes, platforms and infrastructure construction.
That's in the wake of it getting the green light to be a national pilot area for cross-border commerce.
During the first 10 months of this year, the total transaction value of cross-border e-commerce in Guiyang and the nearby Guian New Area was $735 million, a huge increase of 197 percent year-on-year.
Currently, Guiyang and Guian are home to more than 12 cross-border e-commerce companies, involving cross-border e-commerce platforms, logistics and services.
Guiyang has rolled out cross-border e-commerce industrial parks and new projects to attract cross-border e-commerce industrial operators.
To date, the Guiyang Free Trade Zone has built a bonded warehouse with a floor space of 70,000 square meters and a cross-border e-commerce supervision warehouse that covers 8,000 sq m.
A direct freight train between Guiyang and Hong Kong can transport goods in 16 hours. What's more, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone has strengthened its logistics and port functions, and Guanshanhu Industrial Park has introduced an Alibaba cross-border e-commerce service center to train cross-border e-commerce talent.
Guiyang's international land port project is now operating. It provides international concentrated transportation, foreign trade services, foreign exchange account settlements and tax refunds.
To top it off, Guiyang now has 39 overseas warehouses in the United States, Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa.
With a completed cross-border e-commerce service system, Guiyang has shortened its customs clearance time, saved transportation costs and optimized services for foreign trade businesses.
