The Guiyang Free Trade Zone – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is relying on the Guiyang international dry port to guarantee supplies and stabilize the city's foreign trade amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

To prevent and control the spread of the novel coronavirus, the zone started operating a new transfer station for emergency supplies at the port, to ensure products get to the supermarkets in Guiyang.

All the employees in the Guiyang FTZ have been rostered into three shifts to guarantee the 24-hour operations of the transfer station. The zone is also under close-loop management and disinfects all arriving vehicles.

By Sept 15, the transfer station had received about 1,881.5 metric tons of commodities and sent out 1,958.3 tons of commodities and had 573 tons of commodities in stock. Most of the commodities are vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs and milk.

The Guiyang FTZ also cooperated with other departments and companies to guarantee the smooth operations of Guiyang international dry port and assigned volunteers to help companies fully return to production amid the pandemic.
