The Guiyang Free Trade Zone in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is making big efforts and providing support to help resident companies resume production amid the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
The zone has appointed officials to provide logistics support, maintain order at nucleic acid testing stations, offer business services to companies, supervise project construction sites and stay on duty at pandemic prevention and control stations.
So far, Guiyang FTZ's industrial development bureau has recorded 28 problems and difficulties reported by 19 resident companies, and aims to come up with speedy solutions to ensure the supply and production of the businesses.
Assisted by the overall planning and coordination of the Guiyang FTZ, its companies have given full play to their resources and resumed production, especially those producing pandemic prevention and control materials.
Sinopharm Group Guizhou Co's medical supply chain service company is a designated medical materials supplier in the Guiyang FTZ. With emergency resources organization, transportation scheduling and quality checking, the companies supplied more than 7,500 sets of nucleic acid antigen testing reagent for 10 testing stations in one day, which can test 6.5 million people.
An emergency transfer station for pandemic prevention materials was opened in the Guiyang international land port on Sept 7. On the first day of operation, the station unloaded and sorted 44 metric tons of vegetables and delivered them to Guiyang's supermarkets.
Plans are for the Guiyang FTZ to continue to coordinate pandemic prevention and control and economic development, boost the supply of materials and ensure safety on project construction sites.
