The Zhonghua Road commercial district in Guiyang's Yunyan district posted turnover of 1.09 billion yuan ($166.93 million) and received 1.64 million visitors during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, both ranking first among all the city's commercial districts.

Taiping Road, a landmark within the commercial district, has gained fame for its diverse lineup of business outlets, including Captain George cafe and TripSmith brewery. It receives an average of 40,000 visitors a day, driving over 20 percent growth in consumption across the commercial district.

Liquid Workshop, a craft brewery, served around 300 visitors daily during the National Day holiday, with its overall turnover and visitor flow jumping 80 percent compared with normal days. Out-of-town tourists accounted for 60 percent of its total consumption.

Zhu Hongyu, Liquid Workshop's manager, said that since opening on Taiping Road, the venue has differentiated itself from ordinary pubs. Centered on local craft brews, live music, and authentic vibes, it regularly invites homegrown musicians for nightly live performances, adding cultural charm to Taiping Road's nightscape.

Fafa Tea, a handmade tea brand from Chengdu, opened its first Guizhou outlet on Zhonghua Road in June and has enjoyed soaring popularity since. During the National Day holiday, the shop sold an average of 3,000 cups daily, with actual turnover 50 percent above its opening forecast.

"Zhonghua Road was our top pick from the very beginning," said Liu Hao, the store manager. "The mature commercial atmosphere, steady foot traffic, and robust cultural-tourism consumption potential won us over."

Fafa Tea's surging popularity marks another milestone in Yunyan's push to develop its first-store economy. To date, seven premium first stores have settled in the Zhonghua Road commercial district, supporting the upgrading and expansion of local consumption.
