Taiping Road

english.guiyang.gov.cn|Updated: 2026-07-22

Once home to Longjing Qiuyin (Autumn Shade at Longjing), one of the eight celebrated sights of Guiyang during the Ming Dynasty, Taiping Road has been thoughtfully revitalized into one of the city's most vibrant cultural districts. Today, the reconstructed Rouyuan Gate City Wall faces the contemporary Longjing Pavilion across the quietly flowing river beneath Yudai Bridge, creating a striking contrast between history and modern design.

Rather than recreating an ancient street, Taiping Road reinterprets the city's heritage through contemporary architecture and urban design. Visitors can enjoy specialty coffee beside the old city wall, listen to live jazz performances near Longjing Pavilion, or discover the playful monkey mascot tucked away in hidden alleys. From daytime cafés and afternoon tea to lively evening bars, the district offers a relaxed lifestyle that reflects the rhythm of modern Guiyang. Here, history is no longer confined to textbooks—it becomes something to touch and experience.
