Wenchang Pavilion

Nestled near the East Gate of Guiyang's old town, Wenchang Pavilion is another treasured symbol of the city's history and culture. Distinguished by its unique three-story, nine-pointed roof, the pavilion has watched over Guiyang for centuries.

Climb to the top for sweeping views of the old city, where grey-tiled lanes, lively neighborhood streets, and modern skyscrapers coexist in harmony. Around the pavilion, locals practice tai chi in the morning, gather for chess games in the afternoon, and stroll with their birds at dusk. Rather than serving as a static historical monument, Wenchang Pavilion remains an inseparable part of everyday life in Guiyang.

   Tuesday–Sunday: 9 am–6 pm (last admission at 6 pm)

   Closed on Mondays
