Roadside concerts celebrate joys of life in Yunyan

Several media reporters from the Asia-Pacific region performed three Chinese songs at the roadside concert on Oct 25 at Wenchang Pavilion, in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, winning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

An editor from the Fiji Sun remarked, "The roadside concert is vibrant, embodying themes of openness, happiness, and civility."

Launched in July 2023, the concert at Wenchang Pavilion features singers from various professions, welcoming participants without the need for tickets. A representative from the Publicity Department of Yunyan district explained that the concert follows a policy of no fees or ticket sales, ensuring that both locals and tourists can freely enjoy the music.

A journalist from Nepal described the atmosphere as "happy, happy, happy," noting that such a vibe is quite rare. A reporter from East Timor said that the inclusiveness here is delightful, with many visitors developing a special fondness for the city.

A reporter from Malaysia also received warm applause and praised the excellent integration of culture, entertainment, and tourism in the area.

Today, roadside concerts in Guiyang are attracting more and more participants, becoming a platform for showcasing the vibrant local lifestyle and warm community.
